Kinesio Taping
It enhances muscular, joint and circulatory functions by facilitating a muscle, inhibiting a muscle
The Kinesio taping method was developed in the early 1980’s by Dr. Kenzo Kase. Kinesio tape mimics the skin’s elasticity so that we can use our full range of motion. The tape’s medical-grade adhesive is latex free, water resistant, 100% cotton, and strong enough to stay on for 3-5 days. The tape can be stretched upto 40-60% of it’s resting length. The kinesio tape works by subcutaneously lifting the skin. It enhances muscular, joint and circulatory functions by facilitating a muscle, inhibiting a muscle and working with the lymphatic system to help with edema. Kinesio taping can be used in all phases of an injury: Acute, Sub-acute and Rehabilitative.
